poisonous pink nail art

DSC_1122 - version 2_Fotor

Today it is Nail Art Sunday at LeLack, as every sunday. The today´s theme is focused on rising awareness of breast cancer and the pink ribbon campaign, just like the United in Pink initiative that Lacky Corner is hosting this week.

poison and optimism

Cancer is a devastating disease. In your fight against the poisonous sickness you need to have an optimism. An optimism that you someday will get well, and an optimism that enables you to see things positive in the everyday life you are living in the middle of the crisis. At least that is how I feel about the frustrating time of sickness I’m going through myself at the moment. (Not cancer though…) And I wanted to capture this feeling in the nail art for today.

inspired by joanne

I saw an awesome poison mani at the blog Witch Nails the other day which I used as inspiration for this manicure. (By the way, this is the first time ever I saw a good use of crackle polish.) Then I added an accent nail with flowers I painted with some dotting tools.

the palette

For this manicure I started with the pink Essie Too Taboo and IsaDora Jugend Black. Then I topped everything with the crackle polish IsaDora Black Tag. The poison touch was then finalized with some extra Essie Too Taboo at the tips.

The accent nail has China Glaze Friends Forever Right? as base color, then I used the same pink and black polishes as on the other nails to dot the flowers. Finally I added a hint of neon green in the middle, China Glaze Grass Is Lime Greener.

romantic dinner nail art

Some small sparks of creativity are slowly creeping back into my veins, even though I’m still spending most of my days sleeping. But it feels like a good sign!

And the other day me and my husband made something we rarely do. We had a romantic dinner at a restaurant, only the two of us. It was perfect!

perfect company, perfect nails

Of cours I had to do my nails for such an occasion. I wanted something romantic and a bit elaborate so I ended up with a red, black and white manicure with some accent nails in flower pattern.

step by step

I started out with the stunning OPI The Show Must Go On, a reddish raspberry duochrome which flashes in golden orange. Then I added some accent nails with the white OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. After drying I stamped on some flowers using the black holo polish Color Club Beyond and konad plate m60.

Easy, and I had the best looking nails in the restaurant. And the best company…

Ugliest: China Glaze Budding Romance

DSC_0664 - version 3

My ugliest untried nail polish, that’s the theme of today in The Neverending Pile Challenge. This was an easy choice: China Glaze Budding Romance. A yellow tinted green, such a hideous and unflattering color to wear. I just can’t understand how or why I could get the idea to buy this polish from the last years spring collection Avant Garden.

To be able to stand wearing Budding Romance I made a simple stamping nail art to pimp the manicure. The white is, as always, OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and the plate is Konad m60.
This polish will not crown my nails again.

Laquerlicious Crazy Daisies – Review

DSC_0688 - version 2

When I first laid my eyes on Laquerlicious Crazy Daisies it was love at first sight.

Crazy Daisies makes me think of graffiti in a bottle. The crazy (yes, great name on this one) mix of glitters sets me instantly in a great mood. As you see on the pictures it contains a wide range of different sizes of glitters and a delicious color mix. I spot stars in different shades of pink, yellow and green daisies and white and black triangles. I especially like the triangles. I’ve never seen a triangular glitter in my collection before.

Easy to paint with?

Naaah, not really. The formula is a bit chunky and to get the glitter out you need to take quite a lot of polish on the brush, thus giving too much of the clear base on the nails. So you need to focus and try to get as much glitter and as little base as possible.  But it was definitely worth the effort.

I laid Crazy Daisies over one coat of white (OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls) and as you can see the base is clear but slightly yellow tinted. Next time I will put it over bright magenta or blue. Maybe over Essie Too Taboo? I think it would look great.

To sum up

Overall I’m very pleased that I got this polish. This is what I will pick out next time I’m feeling a bit blue. The most fun with this polish is that every coat was a surprise. For each layer new shapes of glitters that I hadn’t seen before showed up. Really fun!

I bought my Laquerlicious Crazy Daisies at Edgy Polish.

Kanske Essie Too Taboo?

Skoj!

Jag köpte mitt Laquerlicious Crazy Daisies hos Edgy Polish.

The Neverending Pile Challenge – Least Expensive – Sensinity Vainilla

Least Expensive untried nail polish. That’s the theme of the day in the Neverending Pile Challenge. I found Sensinity Vainilla in my pile, which costs about 2 USD.

Surprisingly great formula, covered in two smooth layers. To make the mani a little bit more exciting I added an accent nail with some flowers painted with a dotting tool.

When I edited the pictures I saw the “Scented” label on the bottle. And actually, it has a faint vanilla scent. Very discreet. Not disturbing at all. I actually like it.

Billigaste otestade lacket.
